Youngsters banged the drum at an action-packed event to launch Derbyshire County Council's latest children's centre.
Drumming workshops and craft making were among activities at Clowne Children's Centre.

The new centre, on Ringer Lane, offers support services for children under five and their families, including early education, access to childcare, health services, family support services and Jobcentre Plus.

Cllr Joyce Sanders, chair of Derbyshire County Council, officially opened the centre by planting a tree.

A total of 42 children's centres will be set up across Derby-shire. Another 12 are planned to be in operation by 2011.
