A special day

I think we should always remember November 11 as it is a very special day for looking back to both World Wars but also for today where we have a large contingent of our Armed Forces serving in many different parts of the world.

We should never forget the sacrifice that is made each and every single day on behalf of our country.

We have three war memorials in Eastwood and we, the town, will be paying our respects to members of our brave Armed Forces at two of the sites.

Firstly on Sunday November 11 at St Mary’s Church, Eastwood.

This will be followed on Monday November 12 at the Memorial Cottages War Memorial, Mansfield Road, Eastwood.

Cllr Brian Griffin

Eastwood Town Mayor
