A view from Eastwood Market Place

The cameraman was in the Eastwood’s old market place to capture this picture of Nottingham Road.

The noted Eastwood character William E Hopkin, whose father’s shop at number 24 is on the right just past the cart, sent this poctcard on July 25 1904.

William E Hopkin was born in 1862 and was good friends with Lawrence.

His family was associated with the shoemaking trade and lived in the area from 1805.
