Heanor Grammar School reunion

Memory Lane: Heanor Grammar School Reunion

After news that there is a £4.5 million plan to develop the old Heanor Grammar School site in Ilkeston Road, Heanor, we thought we’d find an old picture of an event there. This one was taken at a reunion of former grammar school pupils, but we don’t know when.

The school later became South East Derbyshire College and then part of Derby College. It has largely stood empty for two years. Now there are plans to knock down part of it to make way for an all-weather sports pitch.

The site would be used for vocational training and offer work experience to young people under the new scheme.
