Polly makes a cuppa for dignitaries

Pictured here is the Mayor of Eastwood Don Rowley outside Polly’s Tea House back in the mid 1990s.

As well as Mr Rowley, Polly, otherwise known as Juliette Rhodes, put the kettle on for Eastwood Trades Guild president Marilyn Bird and her mum, Carol.

Juliette, 18, was torn between a career in the police force or going to university. However, when premises next door but one to her fathers business became vacant, Juliette, opted to try her luck in the business world instead.

Don Rowley is still an Eastwood town councillor today.
