Dozens of women get to work in this photograph taken inside an Ilkeston factory back in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
It is another picture included in a scrapbook all about Booth’s hosiery factory which stood in Awsworth Road.
It employed thousands of Ilkeston folk over the years and its peak was in the post-war years.
The site is now the Booth’s Industrial Estate, which could be the site of dozens of new houses and a care home if a planning application, currently lodged with Erewash Borough Council, is given the go-ahead.
