Fishpond gig for Sack Sabbath

Sack Sabbath

Sack Sabbath

Sack Sabbath, the tribute to the masters of heavy metal, Black Sabbath, will play their first gig in the area since the summer when they appear at Matlock Bath’s Fishpond on Saturday, October 20.

The band will be playing a revamped setlist, comprising all the very best of Black Sabbath from 1970-1978 and including classics like Iron Man. War Pigs, Sweet Leaf, The Wizard, and the perennial rock favourite, Paranoid.

This is part of a UK tour including gigs in Chester, Grimsby, Llandudno, Leicester and Leeds.

Next year, the band will be off to rather more exotic climes with an appearance at the Rock In Rhodes festival, Greece, as well as a number of major festivals including Legends Of Classic Rock in Yarmouth, which attracts around 3,000 rock fans.

Support comes from Dreaded Monkey, a fine young band with members from the Ilkeston, Eastwood and Heanor areas, who are making waves locally with their hard driving rock sound.

Tickets for the Matlock show are £8, and can be obtained from the venue or by ringing 07931 638610. Doors open at 8pm.
