Four of a kind in concert

Finest Kind

Finest Kind

FINEST Kind, Canada’s foremost vocal harmony band, will be in concert at The Nailers Football Club Concert Room, Bridge Street, Belper, on Friday, August 3.

The performance gets under way at 8pm and forms part of their 4th UK Festival Tour.

The band is made up of Ian Robb on concertina/vocals, Ann Downey on banjo/vocals, Shelley Posen on guitar/vocals, and James Stephens on fiddlemandolin. Songs from the English tradition, Ccountry gems, Appalachian classics, and self-penned numbers are all in their set.

It will be a programme that covers the broad church of the international folk scene and has a rare mix of songs from the likes of Hank Williams, Bob Dylan, Rudyard Kipling and Utah Phillips.

This remarkable band will be playing at three major music festivals on this short tour, Warwick, Sidmouth, and Nottingham Riverside, alongside several other concert appearances.

Finest Kinf have a devoted following across North America, and, over the past four years, have built up a huge following on the national folk scene here in Britain.

They bring a fresh sense of excitement and discovery to the performance of old songs, all served up with easy going humour, glorious harmonies, superb musicianship, and a very entertaining programme.

Tickets to see them in Belper are £12, available by calling on the Ticket Hotline on 01773 853428.
