An 11-year-old girl from Watnall performed at a prestigious dance show in Nottingham.

Skye Storer’s dance group the Groundhogs – all adults except her – performed at Unite The Scene at Nottingham Arts Theatre last Friday.

The show, which raised £1,000 for Children In Need, was made up of 11 of the best dance groups from across Nottinghamshire.

Her mum Michelle Storer said she was ‘immensely proud’ of her daughter.

“She is very talented,” she said.

“It was a fantastic show. There were no empty seats and the atmosphere was fantastic.”

Unite The Scene was the first big collaboration of dance groups across the county and featured 11 groups.

Michelle said the breakdancing group the Groundhogs let her daughter into the group two years ago after she perfected moves such as the headspin and the windmill.

Last year Skye won two competitions, a dancing competition at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal, and a talent show at Fantasy Island in Ingoldmells.

The successful dancer lives in Spring Close, Watnall and goes to Hollywell Primary School in Kimberley.
