OVER £5,000 was raised at a charity event to support a young motorbike champion from Jacksdale.
The Jacksdale’s Got Talent fundraising event for Kyle Ryde was held at the village’s miners’ welfare where budding stars were judged by a panel of people dressed as Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan.
Several events are held throughout the year to help support teenager Kyle take part in championships across Europe.
The money will go towards helping the teenager defend his British 125cc champion title. The racing season starts this weekend at Brands Hatch.
Kyle’s parents Sean and Janine said they were grateful to all the local racing celebrities, local businesses and football teams that donated towards the event.
