GREASLEY Christian Aid Group raised over £6,000 as part of a nationwide initiative.
The group joined over 2,000 people across the country for Christian Aid Week raising money for the world’s poorest communities.
Members held coffee mornings, a gardeners’ forum and collected £1,233 at Morrisons in Eastwood.
Local churches raised £2,665 doing house-to-house collections.
Katrine Hockenhull, the chair of Greasley Christian Aid Group said: “Mintons Tea Rooms supported the week, we had plenty of individual donations and we would like to thank Martin Gage and Sharon Natt who inspired us with their talk about the work of Christian Aid in Cambodia.”
