A new £80,000 youth centre has been officially unveiled in Kimberley.
Kimberley Youth Centre, which is funded by Nottinghamshire County Council, has been relocated to a different area within Kimberley Leisure Centre and boasts a larger, more modern environment for local young people.

Features include a 48-inch plasm
a TV and music system, new furniture including leather sofas and a café area which will be run by young people.

The new centre will face the nearby Kimberley Comprehensive School which will help attract more young people from the school in the evenings.

Opening times are from 6pm to 9pm Monday, Wednesday and Thursday for evening activities and 12pm to 2pm on Mondays and 12pm to 4pm on Thursdays for advice on education, training and employment.

Cabinet Member Joyce Bosnjak, the council's cabinet member for children and young People, said: "Kimberley Youth Centre is a popular attraction for local young people but this new facility with its bright and airy atmosphere will hopefully entice even more to come along.

"Giving young people guidance on training and their future careers is a key role of the county council's youth service and this new facility will be an important outlet for this kind of advice in Kimberley."
