A giant badger was roaming around Kimberley this week as a reminder to residents that a new glass recycling service will start up in December.
Broxtowe Borough Council's kerbside glass collections will be starting again in December using specially designed weighted bags.

This new improved service will also enable householders to recycle their glass all year round.

The scheme was launched this week by Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Cllr Sue Wildey and council recycling mascot Brock the Badger.

Residents will be able to take advantage of the new improved service and weighted bags will be distributed to all households over the next couple of months. The bags can be used to store glass bottles and jars, this is then put out for collection on the relevant day.

The collected glass will be taken to the council's work depot at Kimberley, where it is bulked before being collected by the glass processor.

The glass will then be recycled into more bottles and jars or used as an aggregate for road building.
