A SCHEME encouraging children to read books over the summer has been launched at Eastwood library.
Children are given stickers and prizes for completing stories and other tasks.

Library manager Pat Bonsall said: "We've already signed 50 children up which is more than previous years.

"Children can drop in anytime over the summer and join the scheme."

Story teller Sophie Snell attended the event and staff hosted an arts and crafts workshop.

The library is hosting other events linked with the programme on Monday July 26 and August 9 and 23.

For more information call Eastwood library on 01773 712209.
