Final preparations for 2008 Kimberley Pram Race
Published Date:

IT'S THE time of year again when Kimberley folk banish all thoughts of embarrassment as they plot their entry to the pram race.
In 30 previous events, a team of Borats, Andy's Chopper, Old Spice Girls and Scudbusters have wowed onlookers lining the route - and there are sure to be a whole host of new topical and satirical entries to the 31st Kimberley Pram Race on Sunday, July 13.
The race will begin at 1pm at the Stag Inn, then down the main street to the Gate Inn, Queen's Head and back up to Toll Bar Square and onto the Cricketers Rest before racing down Station Road and the finish at the Nelson and Railway.
And for those after more entertainment, there will also be an arts and craft fair, bouncy castles and a slide for the under-tens, stilt walkers, a clown, face painters, live bands, an Army climbing wall and recruitment, and a fire engine.
A charity street collection will be in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care in their 60th year.
The roads through the town centre will be closed from 12.30pm to 5pm, except in the event of an emergency.
