An Eastwood pub is holding a competition to guess weight of a cabbage so big that it broke a set of scales.
Pub regular John Winson grew the cabbage which is currently on display on the bar at The Wellington Inn on Nottingham Road. People are being asked to donate money for Cancer Research UK and then guess how much the vegetable weights.

Mr Winson, who grew the cabbage in his garden, said: "When we get all the money in we will weigh the cabbage.

"There are four prizes to be won. I have grown them for years.

"I know it weighs more than 22 pounds because it broke the scales, so we are going to have to find somewhere to weigh it."
