A poker playing team from a pub in Kimberley is celebrating success in a national tournament.
The team from the White Lion, on Swingate, made it through to the quarter finals, which 250 pubs from across the UK took part in.

Two of the players, Penny Stirland and Chris Nicol, who had only been playing for 13 weeks, made it through to the final table with Chris going on to take home the trophy.

Landlord, Andrew Milward-Spence said: "Chris couldn't believe he had made it that far. He had never played until he came here and played with us 13 weeks earlier.

"They are both now through to the national final which will take place in Walsall with a prize fund of £5,000.

"They have both got a good chance and are up against over 200 players - it will be a difficult night for them."

The poker team meet at the pub every Sunday at 7.30pm.
