There is still time to represent the Red Cross in the 2009 Flora London Marathon on April 26.
The official ballot may have closed, but the British Red Cross still has places remaining for its London Marathon team, the deadline being October 31.
"Whether you are a seasoned runner or a casual jogger, we want to hear from you," said a Red Cro
ss spokesman.
"If you have always wanted to run in one of the biggest and most popular marathons in the world, this is the opportunity for you to take on the challenge of a lifetime and raise some money for a great cause at the same time.
"The British Red Cross will give you all the support you need to get your training and fundraising on track. We supply training plans and advice, nutritional tips, a comprehensive fundraising pack and a
British Red Cross running vest for the big day.
"Plus, there will be a reception following the marathon where you can meet up with your friends and family and treat yourself to a well-deserved massage."
To apply for place on the British Red Cross Golden Bond team, simply visit
www.redcross.org.uk/londonmarathon.
"We ask that each of our Golden Bond runners achieve a minimum fundraising target of £1,800, and we will allocate our Golden Bond places once the ballot has been announced mid October," said the spokesman.
"If you manage to get your own place in the marathon, you can still join our team and receive all the benefits of running with the Red Cross, but without the minimum fundraising target."
