STUDENTS are redecorating a community centre in Nuthall as part of their college course.
The students have spent every Thursday morning at the Temple Centre since November painting, putting dado rails up and filling cracks in the walls and ceiling.

The group of teenagers, studying an NVQ in painting and decorating at Castle College, are doing the work for Nuthall Parish Council.

Parish council clerk Sue Stack said: "They have taken what was a very miserable looking building and turned it in to a nice place to go.

"It's fantastic to have the help and they are lovely people to have around as well."

The students have now agreed to help the council do up a storage room at the town's Basil Russell playing fields.

College co-ordinator Matt Anderson said: "We always try to get our learners to participate in on-site work or jobs. The group is very keen and eager to help out in the community and at the same time get some valuable on-site experience."
