A KIMBERLEY grandfather who was brought back to life on the dancefloor of his local has personally thanked the man responsible.
Frank Woods, of Valley Road, said he will always be grateful after club steward John Harvey saved his life with a defibrillator he had never used before.

As described in our front page exclusive, Frank, 64, had collapsed at the Kimberley Miners Welfare on a night out with his wife, Barbara. His heart had stopped when first aider John shocked him with a machine that had never been used.

Frank spent a week in hospital and, despite being told to take it easy, has met with John to say thank you.

And wife Barbara added: "He used that (defibrillator] for the first time and it saved my husband's life. I keep saying thank you but it never seems enough."

Kimberley Miners Welfare committee bought the defibrillator six years ago and staff undergo re-training every six months.

Today's Vote

Do you think there is room for development in our area, or do you agree with protesters that it's being turned into a "brick jungle"?
No more development, we're losing our beautiful countryside.
The protesters are overreacting
