GUIDES, Brownies, Scouts and Cubs all marked World Thinking Day this week – one of the biggest events in the Girl Guiding calendar.

At Greasley Beauvale Primary School both girls and boys went to school dressed in their uniforms to mark the birthday of Lord Robert Baden-Powell – the founder of the organisation.

Deputy headteacher Russell Gray said: “We are always proud of the children’s activities and achievements out of school as well as in, so we are really pleased to be able to support such a large number of our pupils in celebrating this day.”

The Eastwood and District Girl Guides celebrated with a campfire party held at Beuavale Priory. The girls were members of groups in Eastwood, Newthorpe, Westwood and Greasley.
