Adoption is satisfactory

THE county’s adoption service has been rated satisfactory by Ofsted.

Nottinghamshire County Council’s adoption service was rated as satisfactory, with some good and outstanding areas of service.

The report said the adoption team had strong leadership and the arrangements to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and to keep them safe from harm are good.

The previous Ofsted inspection in 2008 rated the service as good, but since then the number of children in care has increased significantly, with the total now at a record high.
