Advice after spate of hubcap thefts

Last Friday there were four reported incidents of wheel trims and hub caps stolen from cars in our area.

Fords, Volkswagens and Peugeots were all targeted during the hours of darkness.

Areas include Church Street in Eastwood, Hampden Street in Giltbrook, Stamford Street in Newthorpe and Cornfield Road in Kimberley.

There were 22 incidents of wheel trims being stolen across area last month and police believe it may be the same people.

Crime prevention advice has been given out in the affected areas advising people to put cars in garages or secure the trims with cable ties.

Call police on 101 with any information.

Sgt Andy Browning said: “We have numerous strands of enquiry which are ongoing but need a break through which will lead to an arrest.”
