A COUNCILLOR has hit out at Nottinghamshire County Council for wasting money after hearing a road was being re-surfaced just weeks after it had new markings put in.
Cllr Brian Griffin said he was shocked to hear the council would be surfacing Church Street in Eastwood weeks after putting new white lines on the road.
He said: “It’s crazy. And they are on about saving money?”
Cllr Griffin said there should have been more ‘forward thinking’.
A council spokespersons said: “In an ideal world, resurfacing work and new highways improvement schemes would take place in tandem, but with the many hundreds of miles of road we maintain this is not always possible. Resurfacing will take place in February half-term and the lines will be put back in.”
