AN ACTION packed month for Eastwood residents started on Saturday when Vikings invaded the high street to hand out brochures for this year’s Eastwood Arts Festival.

Thousands of people are expected to attend events organised for the eleventh annual festival that runs for the whole of July.

Mayor of Eastwood Ken Woodhead said: “I’m really looking forward to all of the events and will be going to as many as I can.

“We had a great response from people on Saturday when we handed out brochures so I really hope people in the town turn out and enjoy everything that’s been arranged.

“A lot of hard work and effort has gone into organising all of the events so I hope that people are 100 per cent behind the festival.”
