Kimberley artist Keith Wilkinson is celebrating after his painting won first prize at an exhibition hosted by the Nottingham Society of Artists.
Keith, who sells his paintings and bespoke framing from his studio in Little Lane, Kimberley, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have won this award. Painting is a passion but it is hard work and it is marvellous when your work is recognised. I’m delighted it’s amazing.”
The prize, awarded by the Holbrook Trust, dates back to 1904 and previous recipients include one of Britains most famous painters Dame Laura Knight who won it in 1905.
Keith won third prize three years ago, but took top spot this time with his painting called Sparkling Light – Nottingham Riverside Festival.
