TEN employees from the former Netto store in Langley Mill started new jobs at the town’s Asda this week.

The group is now working for supermarket giant, which bought out the Netto chain of 200 stores across the UK earlier this year.

It shut down the Langley Mill Netto because of the close proximity to the Asda store on Wesley Street.

All of the 11 staff employed by Netto were offered the chance to take up jobs at the new Asda.

Ten of them opted to switch, with one taking voluntary redundancy.

The ten staff are Nicola Clifton, Laura Carter, Susan Short, Derek Plumridge, Tracey Buttery, Lynne Daniel, Laurence Berreford, Angela Moran, Karen Cope and Anders Fielding. They have stepped into various roles at the store. One is going into the butcher’s department, while another will work in the George clothing section.
