Nottinghamshire’s Deputy Chief Constable has been included in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
DCC Chris Eyre, who joined the force in July 2010, is to receive the Queen’s Police Medal.
Mr Eyre said: “I am absolutely thrilled and more than a little humbled.
“On a personal level it’s always very satisfying to be rewarded but for me this is a reflection of the outstanding work done by some equally outstanding colleagues I have had the pleasure of working with.
“The enormous strides being made to transform policing in Nottinghamshire are the result of some very talented and committed people working extremely hard.
“It is thanks, in no small part, to their efforts that I have been given this award.”
