BIKER Scott Gilbert is organising a mass ride round Derbyshire with the aim of raising charity cash.

The hard-working Ilkeston 23-year-old is sketching out the route, which avoids motorways and takes in some of the finest views of the Peak District.

“I am really looking forward to it and hope lots of people will join in,” said Scott, who works at Ilkeston Co-op and at Granby Motors.

He has chosen Cancer Research as the charity to benefit after the disease killed his uncle, aunt and grandfather.

Entrants will pay £5 to join the route which starts at Granby Motors at 9am on July 28.

The price includes a bacon bap and tea or coffee before the start. Book a place by calling 0115 930 0020.
