Borough’s deputy installed

Greasley councillor Margaret Handley has been installed Broxtowe borough deputy mayor.

The decision was made at Broxtowe Borough Council’s annual meeting on Wednesday night, May 18.

Ex-deputy mayor Jacky Williams has been installed as the new mayor of the borough.

Cllr Williams, who will be the borough’s 34th Mayor, was first elected to Broxtowe Borough Council at a by-election in 1992 and has also been Mayor of Stapleford.

She has chosen to support Link Youth Café, Stapleford and Rainbows Hospice as her two chosen charities throughout the year.
