Borough’s new Mayor

EERWASH’s new Mayor is set to receive her chains tonight (Thursday).

Cllr Jennifer Hulls will take on the role as the civic head of Erewash borough at the full council meeting in Long Eaton tonight.

A speech will be read out thanking outgoing Mayor, Cllr Kevin Miller and his wife Mayoress June Miller.

Erewash Borough Council elects a Mayor from the leading Conservative party to serve for one year each from May to May.

The Mayor for 2012 to 2013 will be elected at the meeting tonight.

Usually, the elected councillor will act as deputy Mayor for the year leading up to his or her year as Mayor.

Cllr Hulls, who lives in Dale Abbey, represents the Sandiacre South ward on Erewash Borough Council.
