MP for Broxtowe Anna Soubry has called an urgent meeting with Tramlink, the police and representatives from Broxtowe Council to discuss the high number of cycling accidents along Chilwell High Road in Beeston.
This meeting has been called after a cyclist almost died following an accident there. The man involved was put into an induced coma after suffering several injuries when the wheel of his bicycle got stuck in tram tracks and was subsequently hit by a car.
Mrs Soubry said: “This is now very serious and it is time to take action before someone is killed. I have requested copies of the risk assessment and for NET’s statistics on cycling accidents.”
