Ilkeston aerospace composites manufacturer Atlas Composites has announced they will be exhibiting at Erewash Partnership’s Networking & Manufacturing Showcase Event later this month.

The event on Wednesday July 25 at Lakeside Hall, Kirk Hallam Community Technology & Sports College, is part of the Partnership’s wider Manufacturing & Engineering Erewash initiative aimed at celebrating and promoting the manufacturing and engineering expertise in the area as well as highlighting the excellent career opportunities locally.

With such a plethora of automotive, aerospace and advanced engineering expertise in the local area, Atlas Composites Managing Director Shaun Moloney is hoping to be in good company.

“Atlas Composites are delighted to be doing their part to support the economic development of the local area by sponsoring the Erewash Partnership,” he said.

“The East Midlands is at the hub of UK composites manufacturing and with the industry expected to grow by around 8 per cent per annum to 2020, boosted by commercial and military aerospace composites, organisations such as Erewash Partnership are vital to help promote future business growth in the region.

“As a local employer who grew up and served an apprenticeship in the area I am naturally passionate to see Ilkeston and the wider Erewash community capitalise on any opportunities to create economic growth through manufacturing.”

Amongst the high performance composite components Atlas Composites will be exhibiting at the event will be a steering wheel and gearbox console from a Formula One car along with an electronics enclosure from a military helicopter.
