The Eastwood branch of the Royal British Legion is holding a special celebratory event to mark the organisation’s 90th anniversary year on July 16.
Members will be outside the town library with Eastwood cadets handing out leaflets and stickers and raising money selling 90th anniversary badges and wrist bands.
There will also be stalls selling bric-a-brac and cakes and tea and coffee will be available at the Wellington Inn, while bunting, flags and banners to decorate the town centre will be given to local shops to get the town dressed in red, white and blue for the event.
During the afternoon the legion members will move onto Coronation Park for the Eastwood Arts Festival family fun day, where they will promote the legion further and raise more money.
The Royal British Legion celebrates its 90th anniversary this year, and branches all over the country are hosting different events to celebrate the occasion.
