THE founder of Nuthall Friendship Club has celebrated her Diamond Wedding anniversary.

Joyce Pepperdine and husband Ernie, who swapped Nuthall for Scunthorpe five years ago, marked the milestone with a party for friends.

Joyce was the founder member of the village’s friendship club and is a past president of Nuthall Methodist Church’s Women’s Fellowship and Ernie was based at the RAF’s Nottingham weather centre in Watnall.

Ernie said his long-lasting marriage to Joyce had been ‘mainly fine and sunny with just a few cloudy moments, as could be expected.”

The couple have lived in 21 homes in their 60 years marriage, but lived in Temple Drive, Nuthall for 30 years.

They have lived in Malaysia, Singapore, Zambia and Gibralter as well as several other places in the UK.
