Chapel restored for community use

Kimberley Town Council installed external lights at the cemetery chapel in 1997 to mark theit centenery.

Cllr Roy Plumb said not only did the lights commemorate the council’s 100th anniversary, but they also helped keep away vandals who were causing havoc at the time.

Over the years the council-owned chapel has also had new doors fitted and paint stripped off the original Victorian tiles.

The chapel building is 130 years old.
