Charity monster meets local kids

HUMUNGOUSAUR from the children’s cartoon Ben 10 paid a visit to Asda in Langley Mill to help the staff raise money for charity.

The popular giant character met children and helped collect money for Tommy’s, the store’s chosen charity for the year.

Humungousaur sold stickers and helped staff collect donations throughout the morning on Wednesday, August 3.

Staff at the store aim to raise £500,000.

Manager Lyndsey Newmarch said: “Some of the best-known characters from the series are old favourites at Asda and they always go down well.

“The children had a great time.”

Charity Tommy’s was formed in 1992 and funds research into the causes of premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage. It also helps to provide advice for to parents-to-be.
