Charity shop opened by town MP

Eastwood’s Headway charity shop is moving to a bigger premises and is being opened by the Eastwood MP.

The shop in Nottingham Road is moving further up the same street, and will be opened today, March 2, by Eastwood MP Gloria De Piero and two brain injury sufferers, Tom Birch and Mark Smart.

Shop manager Sharon Lyons said: “We’re very excited about this new start and look forward to welcoming customers.

“It is hoped that the move will attract even more support from the local community. Hopefully we will generate more income because it’s a bigger and better shop.”

Ms Lyons said she wanted to appeal to the people of Eastwood for any unwanted items.

“We rely entirely on stock donations, so please clear out your clutter and help us,” she said.
