A man who described his job as a ‘chicken catcher’ was found in possession of heroin, a court heard.
Stephen Swain, 40, of Southwell Lane, Kirkby, was found with two wraps containing 0.12g of the Class A drug on September 9 2015.
The court heard that Swain told police the drugs were his and made no attempt to hide this from officers despite them being found at another address.
Swain also told the court that he spends about £50 a week on heroin.
In mitigation, Chris Lacey said: “The drugs were for his own personal use.
“He has made it clear that he had not taken the drug since the offence.”
Swain was fined £100, ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
Magistrates also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
