A TIME capsule was buried in Coronation Park, Eastwood, this week.

Pupils from Brookhill Leys Primary School buried the time capsule on Tuesday and it will be dug up in 30 years time for people to see what life was like in the town in 2011.

The children collected various bits and pieces to put into the capsule including a copy of the Advertiser, a picture of an iPod, a Broxtowe Borough Council newsletter, pictures of local landmarks, a mobile phone and a list of local councillors.

They also planted several trees to mark the time capsule’s spot and add to Broxtowe Borough Council’s campaign to plant so many trees in the borough.

The Mayor of Broxtowe Cllr Pat Lally, the Mayor of Eastwood Brian Griffin and Richard Baker from Bullock Construction, who sponsored the event, all joined the pupils for the event.
