A CHEQUE for £1,000 was presented to the Teenage Cancer Trust Charity thanks to a Nuthall Women’s Institute member.

WI member Pat Gell suggested the Nottingham-based choir she sings in donated the money to the charity after an inspirational talk at a WI meeting.

Her grandson, Andrew Brown also suffers from Leukaemia, and he accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity at a recent choir rehearsal of The Saturday Singers.

It was a talk by the trust’s Heather Bowen at a WI meeting that prompted Pat to suggest the charity as a good cause.

Half of the choir’s 50 members are from the Eastwood and Kimberley area.
