A NOTTINGHAM choir has hit all the right notes with Marie Curie Cancer Care in Kimberley.

Last week the Saturday Singers presented Marie Curie fundraisers with a cheque for £1,000, raised at their Christmas concert last year.

Anne Carr and Jean Kenny were handed the cheque by choir chairman Dick Huskinson and musical director Marjorie Rogers during one of the choir’s rehearsals.

Mrs Carr said she would like to thank the choir for the ‘generous support’ to a charity which was ‘close to her heart’.

Singer Rosemary Lishman nominated Marie Curie as the chosen charity for the festive event, held in Nottingham last December.

Marie Curie pays for nurses to look after terminally ill people in their own homes.
