Competition entries add colour to Father’s Day

Featured here are the colourful pictures youngsters of the Eastwood and Kimberley area have submitted as part of our fantastic Father’s Day competition — and aren’t they just brilliant?

We asked local children to get out the pencils and crayons and draw a picture of their ‘super dads’ to celebrate Father’s Day this Sunday, June 16.

There were also two top art prizes on offer in our two age grops of nought to eight and nine to 14.

The entries here are just great and well done to all the children who entered - we’re sure your ‘super dads’ will be bowled over!

Now we’ll be picking the winner of each age group — and the lucky two will be contacted and the results announced in next week’s Advertiser.

‘Effort’

Editor Martin Hutton said: “Well done to all the children who took part. There are certainly some great pictures and lots of time and effort has been spent on the entries.

“We are also sure your dads will be thrilled by your pictures - what a lovely surprise for Father’s Day too!”

We’ll be contacting our winners now to arrange for them to collect their prizes. We will also feature them in the ‘Tiser to show readers just who our top young artists are.

We have also been so pleased with the response to this competition, we intend to stage it again next year, so if you didn’t enter this time look out for next year and your drawing of your day could be featured on these pages — how thrilled will your dad be then?
