Police have issued their aims and objectives to target problem areas.

Following a meeting to set the three-monthly priorities back in January, cops working in the northern cluster have released the detail as to how they will approach each matter.

To target the current drug problem, police will carry out an operation targeting local parks and alleyways.

Inconsiderate and illegal parking around schools was another priority area, and police officers have vowed to issue every parent with letters asking them to park more considerately, and to consider local residents using the nearby footpaths.

Speeding was highlighted as the third priority area.

Officers will be setting up a community speedwatch scheme in Brinsley, using volunteers to help clock speeding drivers.

In other areas officers will be deployed using hand held speed guns.

The northern cluster covers Brinsley, Awsworth, Newthorpe and Giltbrook.
