Council fixed 30,000 potholes


Nottinghamshire County Council has released its ‘top statistics’ from 2013.

A council spokesperson said there had been a ‘wide range and volume of activity’ across different services.

The highways department fixed 30,000 pot holes, the council helped nearly 6,000 people quit smoking, the meals at home service delivered 281,000 meals, the council conducted 2,300 weddings and 50 civil partnerships and libraries across the county issued more than 3.5m books.

A total of 81 children were successfully adopted during 2013 and around 19,200 young people made more than 185,500 visits to the county’s youth clubs.
