CHILDREN turned out in force once again this week for yet another family play day, this time in Kimberley.
Hosted by Broxtowe Borough Council, the event at The Kimberley School was the last of four play days held across the borough.
Chairman of Kimberley Town Council Roy Plumb opened the event and said it was ‘the perfect day to bring the community together’.
“There isn’t a lot for the kids to do during the holidays and it was great the council put this on,” he said. “The kids really enjoyed it and I know that because my grandchildren were there.”
“It’s the first time it had been done on such a large scale in Kimberley and parents are very keen to see it come back next year.”
There were all the usual activities and workshops, a climbing wall, petting zoo, circus skills demonstrations, drumming lessons, BMX biking, arts and craft sessions and face-painting.
Pinxton Puppets Theatre Show and puppet making workshops proved popular and there were special activities put on for under-fives.
A play day was held in Eastwood last week.
