NOTTINGHAMSHIRE County Council is proposing to change the amounts it gives out to voluntary organisations in the county in a bid to reduce bureaucracy.
The authority is proposing to change its small grants scheme by awarding grants from £500 to £5,000 instead of grants of up to £1,000.
Deputy leader Cllr Martin Suthers said: “The council needs to make it as easy as possible for these groups to apply for and use grant aid to allow them to get on with the job in hand – delivering important services for Nottinghamshire people.”
A consultation runs until Friday September 16 and the council has set up focus groups made up of voluntary group members in each district to discuss the plans.
