Nottinghamshire County Council is looking forward to following the fortunes of the county’s Paralympic athletes at London 2012.
The council is supporting six Paralympians, with each athletes receiving £2,000 per year to assist with training and transport costs.
One of the Paralympians is Wheelchair Fencer Simon Wilson, from Kimberley, who has been at training camp in Bath thisweek before heading towards the Olympic Village. His competition will not be until September 8.
Simon has been a national champion for the last four years and is the current number one in Great Britain in the Class A Foil and Epee disciplines.
