A SIX-WEEK course in rock music has been launched at Eastwood Comprehensive School. The Rock School course will be run later this month after the success of the first one earlier this year, where the bands played in a charity gig in Long Eaton.
Students meet at the school’s music suite on Saturdays between 10am and 12.30pm for the course run by Loz Shaw.
Ms Shaw said: “The aim is to develop general musicianship skills, with the focus being songwriting and the bands record their compositions to take home on CD.
“This a superb chance to see young people getting involved, committing to a project and improving their skills.”
Bands will perform at Eastwoodstock on June 15, a gig organised by the school.
