Crime in Broxtowe north down on last year

CRIME in Giltbrook and Newthorpe has reduced by over 15 per cent so far this year when compared to last year.

Police officers said crime in Awsworth has reduced by 23 per cent, and in Cossall it has reduced by 30 per cent.

Metal theft, however, is on the increase. Thieves are stealing lead from windows, church roofs and scrap metal.

Officers said they have recently had copper removed from the inside of lamp posts, but did not say where.

If people see any suspicious behaviour they should take down registration plates of the offenders if they are in a vehicle and call 101 to report the incident, or 999 if it is an emergency.
